John Krasinski InterviewsJohn Krasinski was the it boy of the interview scene for a while, so there are plenty of sources for information on him and his work. Between his huge success with the American version of The Office and his indie street cred from projects like "Brief Interview With Hideous Men", Krasinski is a darling of both magazine and live interviews. Brief Interviews With John KrasinskiThe following are four brief interviews with John Krasinski. Jenna Fischer and John KrasinskiHere's Jenna Fischer and John Krasinski interviewed on the Today show in 2008 just before the premiere of Season Three. This is a pretty standard Today Show interview -- we get an overly cheery intro to a tiny clip from Season Two of The Office followed by a lighthearted interview with two cast members. Pay attention around 0:48 into the clip where Fischer and Krasinski share a sweet little giggle. These two never had a fling? Hard to believe. Krasinski is really frustrated by interviewer Meredith Viera, who seems to have not prepared any questions at all.
Late Show with Craig FergusonJohn stopped in at the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson around the same time. If you can put up with Craig Ferguson (and few people can), this is a fun clip for Krasinski fans. You get to see just how tall John really is when he shares an awkward man hug with Ferguson at the clip's start. This is a lengthy interview -- check out around the 3:00 mark when Craig veers of course yet again to talk about himself and Krasinski "becomes the interviewer". Funny stuff. Somewhere around five minutes in, we find out that John has a new nephew and is serving for the first time as Godfather. Can someone say "trivia"? Time Magazine's "Ten Questions"Check out this more recent interview with John Krasinski as part of Time Magazine's "Ten Questions" series. The interviewer is strangely bad at her job, lots of awkward phrasing and eye contact. The questions were sent in by fans, so don't blame Time for the content. In this clip we find out that John wanted to play basketball for Harvard and that this failed ambition led him into acting. When one fan asks John how he's "least like Jim Halpert", he's taken aback for a second before saying he hopes he's more "ambitious" than Halpert, complaining that Jim is "rarely willing to take chances". Some good stuff here on Krasinski's all around "acting method". MovieWeb.com John Krasinski InterviewAt the end of 2009, Krasinski did an interview with movieweb.com about his role in his new film "It's Complicated". If you want to see John Krasinski looking handsome in a suit and talking about himself, you're in luck. "It's Complicated" is pretty shallow material for an actor like Krasinski, and it is painfully obvious throughout this interview that the film is beneath him. Listen to the awkward phrasing at the one minute mark: "So, um, a lot of um fun situations ensue" and how often the actor known for looking at the camera locks his gaze at the floor. If you want an idea of how Krasinski really feels about his more light hearted work, check this out. John Krasinski became a big star overnight. His performance on The Office as well as that show's huge fan following catapulted him onto the interviewee's chair. With three projects under development and filming on The Office and a new movie, Krasinski won't be a stranger to the interview circuit for long.
